The Best Way To Finish A Product.
Hi Everyone and welcome to another progress report!
Once again I’ve been doing at least one small piece of my product every day. That way it will be finished, even if it takes a while.
I know a lot of people struggle to focus and jump from one product to another so I’m going to recommend using this method.
So start today, carry on tomorrow, then the next day and don’t stop until it’s finished.
I’m actually getting fairly close to finishing.
I’ve a few people who are checking out the site and writing testimonials for the sales page, and I’ve added a lot of banners etc to the affiliate page.
I expect to have a ‘finished’ version by the end of March.
After that I’ll have 4 to 6 weeks before launch to improve and add to it.
So what else have I done recently?
We’ll I published my March 2011 newsletter and added a newsletter page to my blog here:

As always it’s a direct download with no optin required.
This is my report for February 2011 shows a bit of a drop but once again I didnt do a lot last month so overall its a reasonable result
Sales $1383.85
Subs 797
Total List 17784

Nice idea for the product creation, Keith. I just read a great post on another blog about breaking it down. I think you are right to set a daily target, small achievable goals.
Enjoy the journey.

What’s up, Keith!
Hey – congratulations on the steady progress. As you know from the MarketingwithAlex.com forum… I recently completed and launched my first product – a $7.95 productivity software tool. I made two sales, and I’m ecstatic.
How did I finally get something launched?
Maniacal focus on ONLY this one project, for about 10 days.
Lots of nights working up until 4am.
I learned so much from that process, that I immediately started working on my 2nd product (a membership site based on one of my eBooks). I’ll be launching that on Monday.
Again – maniacal focus on one single thing.
(To the detriment of other things, I might add.)
Focus is the BEST (only?) way to finish a product.
Thanks for the post, Keith!
Keep rocking!
Bolaji.
Hi Keith,
I have to say I am so looking forward to seeing you launch!!!
And can’t wait for you to share the success figures
I’m sure some will say you’re lucky… but those of us who have followed along and seen how much you’ve put into it will appreciate the reward for your efforts and being there for the long haul!

Hi Keith,
Also looking forward to your launch, you are setting the bar and standards in the PFS, (just seen last weeks). I don’t want to sound like a screaming fan but your focus in building your product is inspiring.
Wishing you all the best for your soon to happen launch.
John
Hi Keith
I follow your method of doing a bit every day, it works for me rather than trying to do it all in one go. Great to see another fellow student making good progress and getting results.
Cheers, keith.
Hi Keith
You do inspire a lot of people with what you are doing so keep on doing it so that we can all learn how its done.
Doing a little bit of a project every day and breaking the process down into more manageable chunks is the best way to do it as it helps you to accomplish what you want to do and also keeps you focussed and on track.
I’m looking forward to reading your next progress report already.
Take care

How Do Keith,
Yep you are so right. If you don’t do a little proper and I mean proper work every day you will get no where.
I have a few things in the pipe line when it comes to product creation, so need to plan and take action. So doing things until you have completed the task and nothing else is a good tip
Cheers

Focus is a key factor in finishing a product. Starting one product from the other can really cause an headache to everybody. Unfortunately, it can put us into trouble wherein we ended up with lots of unfinished tasks.

This is what i have to live with every day, i start projects and never finish them. I’m really hyped when i start a project, but soon after that i get another idea and i postpone the first one. At least, that’s what i believe i’m doing, but actually the projects get thrown in a dark corner of my mind and i run into it after a year passed and too late to put it to good use.

Keith, Great reminder that it is not the end product we should be focussing on but the next stage in its development. Of course at the start we need to map out the elements and structure of our product but then put that to one side and then focus only on that first step.
Time to put this into action.
